OUr Story

Over 40 years ago our founder Bobby Powell began driving fish and steel trucks around the Wilmington area. Growing up in Seagate, Bobby's family was entrenched in the local commercial fishing industry, but the draw of trucking was too much for him and he knew he wanted to own his own rig one day. Bobby spent days working on big truck front ends with his late father at CC Grissom in downtown Wilmington which further cemented his love of the trucking industry.

Through relentless hard work and consistency, Powell Enterprises has grown from a single truck to a full service heavy haul trucking company with headquarters in Castle Hayne. Our employees have become like family and we have always remembered where we came from.
